FREE GUN SAFETY LOCKS

Gun Lock Poster PROJECT CHILD SAFE The Fairfax Police Department is offering Cable-Style Gun Locks. This is a nationwide program to help ensure safe and responsible firearm ownership. This program was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation and supported by a U.S. Department of Justice grant. This program is called "Project Child Safe". There are several different options for safely storing firearms. You could use a trigger lock device, a cable lock, a lock box, a gun safe, or you could disassemble the firearm. In "Project Child Safe", you can come to the Fairfax Police Department Lobby and pick up a cable-style lock. This lock is free of charge to you and the only information you will need to obtain a cable-style lock is what type of firearm you need it for. There are two styles of cable-style locks. One is for handguns; the other style is for rifles. If you have a .22 revolver you will need to pick up a rifle style cable lock. Please take advantage of this program and keep your loved ones safe.
